Revision & Expansion of the Basic Block Course

The Basic Block Course has been fully revised in content and structurally reorganized.
The aim of this redesign was to make the material clearer, more traceable, and more practice-oriented.

In addition to the existing T-cut method, the course now includes two further approaches:

  • A draping method for beginners, developed directly on the body or dress form, fostering an intuitive understanding of proportion and line.

  • A simplified calculation-based method that guides you step by step through the construction process, particularly suited for those who prefer structured, number-based work.

All modules have been reorganized, refined, and didactically clarified.

Body fitting, transferring alterations, and sewing the final basic block are now structured as one coherent workflow, logically aligned and interconnected.

The course has also been expanded with two concrete implementation examples:
a men’s shirt and an underdress — each with two different collar variations. Based on these examples, the constructed basic block can be directly developed further and applied in practice.

The course now offers multiple paths toward the same goal — depending on working style, experience, and personal preference.
